Three Books Down: What’s Next for the Haven Chronicles?
Haven’s Deceit, the third instalment in my YA futuristic fantasy series, was published on 21st November by Burning Chair. There’s something very satisfying about having a trilogy of books out in the big, wide world. Just look at that line-up.
Several people have asked if this is the end of the Haven Chronicles. If you’ve read Haven’s Deceit, you’ll know that Steve’s story can’t end yet. In fact, there are two more novels in the series. Book four is already planned out and the first few chapters written. So what does that look like?
Well, in each novel so far Steve has ventured further afield, discovered more about his family’s connection with magic, and grown in confidence in himself and his abilities. Book four isn’t just more of the same though. There’ll be an eventual return to where it all started, a conclusion to his family’s story, and a reinforcement of how far Steve has come since he first met Hartley Keg. There’ll be new faces – including the villains of this novel – but plenty of familiar ones too. And the return of two of my favourite characters from Haven Wakes.
I don’t want to give too much away but here are a few clues:
I’m writing as fast as I can and would love to see book four in your hands by the end of 2025. Wish me luck.
